How do I apply for a home improvement loan with a lender on LendKey's website?

Does the Home Improvement Loan require available Home Equity?
No; the home improvement loans offered from LendKey's Lending partners are unsecured and do not require available home equity.
Do I need to work with an approved contractor to apply for financing?
Yes; each contractor must be approved by LendKey to offer the financing, and all funds are disbursed to the contractor directly upon homeowner-certified work completion.
How does the contractor get paid?
When the contractor has finished the work, he/she will notify LendKey that the work has been completed. Following this notification, the borrower will be asked to confirm that the work has been completed in his/her online account. Once the work completion has been confirmed, the funds are disbursed directly to the contractor.
Is LendKey the Lender for the Home Improvement Loan?
LendKey provides the online loan origination and servicing platform to assist their network of banks and credit unions offering various types of loans to consumers. LendKey will match you with one of their bank or credit union partners.
Do I need to have an existing account with a participating Bank or Credit Union?
You do not need to be an existing customer with a participating bank or credit union. Through our online application, you will select a participating bank or credit union lender from whom you are eligible to receive a loan. Some credit unions offering loans that you may qualify for may require that you become a credit union member. There may be a share deposit and association fee required to finalize membership.
Are there any application fees or prepayment penalties?
There are no origination fees or prepayment penalties.

How is my financial information protected?
LendKey servers are equipped with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate technology, which encrypts your entire online session. Automatic sign out occurs after a period of inactivity. All banking information and social security numbers are stored in a secure offsite data center. All users must pass through our secure verification systems to prevent identity theft.
